Matthew Weaver is research­ing and writ­ing two books:

• Adapt­ing a Prac­ti­cal Style Guide.  This is a com­pre­hen­sive doc­u­ment style guide for com­mon busi­ness and tech­ni­cal doc­u­ments. It includes infor­ma­tion and tools nec­es­sary to cre­ate con­sis­tent, high qual­ity doc­u­ments across a com­pany or orga­ni­za­tion.  Adapt­ing a Prac­ti­cal Style Guide is more than a sim­ple style guide as it offers detailed how-​​to on to plan the style guide effort, assess needs, develop the style guide and sup­port­ing resources, imple­ment the style guide, and sus­tain it suc­cess­fully.  As Matthew writes in the book, “This book is suc­cess­ful if you do not fin­ish it with the ques­tion: “Well, that’s a nice idea but where do I start and what should I include?” 
   
• Adapt­ing a Prac­ti­cal Project and Devel­op­ment Method­ol­ogy.  This book dis­tills a method­ol­ogy that inte­grates best prac­tices that include, but are not lim­ited to, the Project Man­age­ment Institute’s Project Man­age­ment Body of Knowl­edge (PMBOK), the Soft­ware Engi­neer­ing Institute’s Inte­grated Capa­bil­ity Matu­rity Model (Con­tin­u­ous Rep­re­sen­ta­tion; CMMI), the Inter­na­tional Elec­tri­cal and Elec­tronic Engi­neers (IEEE) col­lec­tion of stan­dards and guide­lines, and the Inter­na­tional Stan­dards Organization’s ISO-9000:2008 Qual­ity Standard.
